“Do not give what is holy to dogs.
Do not cast your precious pearls before any pig,
for he may trample you under his feet,
then turn and tear you into pieces.” Jesus

pearls-on-swine-Larissa Barton's x photoIn my journey learning to love me, one of my most valuable Aha! moments was when I realized that over millions of moments of my life I had suffocated in a state of blind hope that, if given enough love, a pig would become prince. By continuing to give my light to those who had proven they would use and abuse the very essence of who I am, my physical and emotional health was compromised. Eventually, my light dimmed in their darkness. Through my own hard-fought journey from “bimbo” to NaughtABimbeaux, I learned to walk, sometimes run, away from those who choose darkness. That way my life has plenty of room to embrace those who share my commitment to live in the light.

We women are so often inclined to be “nice” at the expense of what serves us. We allow others into what should be our safest space because we don’t want to “hurt their feelings,” or, heaven forbid, have them think we’re “not nice.”  That didn’t work out so well for me. In fact, let’s just say I learned some very hard lessons back in my “bimbo” days. https://youtu.be/PPF9xaVypPI

Today, loving me First. Last. Always. means I have absolutely no guilt  when that “drama and trauma, Go back. Go back! There’s nothing for you here” vibe waves it’s big red flag. What about you? Have you awakened into your basic human right to discern the integrity of any one, man or woman, before you choose to invite them into your life?  That’s not about being nice. That’s about being Self-aware. Smart. Wise. Safe. Things like that. Last I looked, that was a good thing.  Even Jesus thought so.
YOU are Worthy. Blessed be.
